Adjustments, or manipulation as they're sometimes referred to, are the minor movement of vertebrae in the spine. The objective of this movement is to realign vertebrae that have moved out of place for a number of reasons ranging from normal daily activity to trauma such as a car accident or a slip and fall.
When these vertebrae are out of place, it has an overall systemic effect from muscular to the central nervous system. Without proper alignment and flow of all nerves and systems in the body from the brain, we can't function at our peak.
An adjustment is often a pressure from the chiropractor utilizing the hands or an instrument to move a vertebrae back into place. This happens with a gentle movement and is usually without discomfort. You may hear a noise that sounds like you're cracking your knuckles referred to as joint cavitation. It is the release of gases such as oxygen and nitrogen from the joint.
Overall, adjustments are an excellent way to keep the body functioning at its highest level. When the body is in alignment, the body is able to respond and perform as it was designed to.

Allergy Testing
Ever wonder what could be causing your allergies? Are you living with fatigue, sneezing, coughing, watery eyes, rash or general feeling of not being well? Allergies affect 1 in 5 people and can cause various types of reactions ranging from a harmless rash to more serious respiratory restrictions.
Allergies can be caused by allergens – food, environmental variables, pollen, animal dander and medication – just to name a few. While to most people these allergens are harmless, your immune system may not recognize them as safe and decides to rid itself of this foreign substance, causing you one or several symptoms.
Not knowing what is causing your allergies can be extremely frustrating, so it is for that reason that OC Health and Physical Medicine offers comprehensive allergy testing (Scratch Test), helping you pinpoint the exact allergen that your body is sensitive towards. Treatment options include immunotherapy which helps control your specific symptoms for long lasting results.
Diagnostic Testing
While the most change in a medical regimen comes from the treatment, the most important decisions happen at the diagnostic stage. Without proper diagnosis and testing, we couldn’t determine with as much certainty that the plan of care we set forth is going to benefit you.
The first and arguably most important step of our diagnostic process is consulting with you. Each of our expert team members will meet with you one-on-one to better understand your circumstances as they pertain to that given expert’s body of skills. Once we each have an individual understanding of your needs, we will meet and compile them to better understand what we can do to help!
Diagnostic Testing - Below are some of the other tests we may perform:
Nerve Testing: Patients who suffer from peripheral neuropathy, nerve damage, sciatica, and a variety of other nerve-related conditions will benefit from the precision and precaution of nerve testing here at OC Health and Physical Medicine.
Electromyography (EMG): Using our state-of-the-art electromyography machine, we are able to measure the electrical activity of your musculoskeletal system and detect deficiencies or anomalies. If you deal with chronic pain, this may be a diagnostic measure necessary to determine which course of treatment will best attend to your symptoms.
An NCV Test is essentially a variation of an electrical test, like the EMG, aimed at diagnosing nerve conditions for you. In this exam type, we affix electrodes to the patient’s skin and stimulate the nerves using electricity. While stimulating a given nerve, we use other electrodes to gauge the currency or impulse sent downstream from that stimulated nerve. The patches we use are comparable to those for an electrocardiogram. The experience is mild and gentle. With an NCV we calculate the velocity of nerve conduction by considering the transmission speed in relation to the distance between electrodes.
Vascular Testing: Fast, effective, non-invasive screening for Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD).

Medical Weight Loss
We offer a catered plan of diet advice, plus testing and monitoring, for your weight management and weight loss endeavors. We understand that your weight not only affects your confidence, but also your overall health and longevity. Being overweight or obese can make a person more sluggish, tired, and puts a person at a greater risk of heart disease, heart attack, diabetes, stroke, neuropathy, and a variety of other issues. Extra weight on your frame can also make you more prone to injuries and strain.

Have you heard of the HCG diet? If not, you might have been missing out on the just-right plan for your weight loss needs. This regimen pairs caloric limitations and strong guidance to your diet with injections of the Human Chorionic Gonadotropin hormone. If you’ve heard of HCG before, it’s probably because this is the hormone that a woman’s body produces while pregnant. However, when it comes to weight loss, this hormone has nothing to do with pregnancy or fertility, and everything to do with the way your body’s hormones interact with nutrition. This diet recommendation does involve a very strict eating plan that if followed and paired with the injection series can allow you to achieve remarkable weight loss.

  • Our HCG weight loss program includes:
  • *HCG Prescription Medication
  • Weekly B12 Injections
  • Weekly Lipotrophic Injections
  • Appetite Suppressant (if needed)
  • Food List and Meal Plans

Auto Accidents
At OC Health and Physical Medicine, We Treat Auto Injuries
Neck pain, back pain, and headaches as a result of an auto accident are not normal and should not be ignored. These symptoms can persist and worsen with time if not evaluated and treated correctly. Too often, people simply assume that these symptoms will go away on their own. This can be a big mistake!
If you have recently been in an auto accident, you need a doctor who is trained in the biomechanics of the spine, someone who treats these injuries everyday. At OC Health and Physical Medicine, our primary goal is to get you out of pain and give you the care that you need.
Injury To Your Neck Or Back Can Lead To A Lifetime Of Chronic Pain
Patients who were recently in a car accident often report a wide variety of symptoms. Some of these symptoms occur immediately, while some may not show up for several days or even weeks after the accident. The most common reported symptoms after an accident are neck and back pain, headaches, shoulder pain, dizziness, and trouble concentrating. While you may be in a hurry to get your car fixed, make sure you call our office to get your neck and back properly examined. There could be underlying injuries that left untreated, could lead to a lifetime of chronic pain. A car accident is a major event and the trauma that comes from them could be significant.
We Do The Paperwork

Micro-Needling
Fine lines, wrinkles, “lax” skin, dryness, and other imperfections can result from many things including aging, sun-damage, exposure to toxins, stress and even our nutrition.
Treatment with micro-needling stimulates the production and laying down of new collagen, the skin’s primary protein. This increase in collagen fills in fine lines and smooths the skin’s texture. It improves micro-circulation and hydration resulting in thicker and firmer appearing skin.
We know you will be pleased with your overall younger and healthier appearance!
PRP Therapy
PRP stands for Platelet Rich Plasma. Plasma is the fluid portion of blood which contains cellular components such as red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets.
PRP is derived from your own blood. After filtering out the rest of the cells and plasma using a centrifuge, a small amount of platelets remain. These highly concentrated platelets carry beneficial proteins known as “growth factors” that induce accelerated tissue regeneration and proliferation.
Our physician then injects these highly concentrated platelets back into the damaged areas, which then catalyze the growth of new, healthy tissue.
Unlike medications like ibuprofen or cortisone, which simply alleviate pain, PRP Therapy is a non-invasive alternative that actually heals the injured region.
Patients who can benefit from PRP Therapy include those who have been diagnosed with:

  • Arthritic knees, meniscus tears, ACL ligament injuries and damaged cartilage.
  • Shoulder pain and rotator cuff injuries
  • Lumbar spine (low back) disc pain
  • Degenerative arthritis (knees, hips, shoulders, ankles), tendinitis, frozen shoulder
  • Wrist/Hand joint pain
  • Tennis elbow

Commonly Asked PRP Questions
Is it painful?
Patients usually tolerate the procedure well, although there may be some soreness at the site of injection.
How many treatments do I need?
This varies, but most patients experience great relief after 1-3 treatments, depending on the severity of the injury and how long it has been there.
How often are the treatments administrated?
If more than one injection is indicated, they are usually about 4-6 weeks apart.
What can I expect after PRP?
Mild swelling and discomfort may occur at the injection site during the first 48 hours post treatment. By the third day, these symptoms will begin to resolve.
Are there side effects or complications?
Minimal side effects have been observed. Stiffness and/or discomfort will resolve with time.
How long does it take for PRP Therapy to work?
Symptom improvement is slow and subtle, but most patients notice some element of improvement within 2-4 weeks. Chronic pain is lessened and increased endurance and strength are typically reported over time.
